* monks will rock on listening to bon jovi living on a prayer on your ipod but i wonder if getting them to listen to faithless, god is a dj is stepping over the line?

* in bylakuppe, people will show you around endlessly and not suddenly demand payment

* a veg noodle soup is a welcome distraction from dosa

* when monks get days off, they will spontaneously go on day trips to mysore and they do not require any luggage, and i really mean zero luggage, nothing

* to make the 3 hour bus trip to bylakuppe speed by, an auctioneer may get on the bus and start to auction a pashmina, some cloth he refers to as a safari suit and other miscellaneous items. bus passengers feel the quality of the items and admire them, and the price then seems to go up and up with no-one bidding on the items. and then the bus stops and the auctioneer gets off. i've yet to work out what happened there
